Sashiko cushion
I forget when I started stitching this cushion cover but revisiting learning the technique of Sashiko whilst on the World Cruises along with finding things to do lockdown gave me the idea of finishing it off.

Cross stitch on linen, French design.
Birds made from hand made felt. I made the felt on a textile course at Quarry Bank Mill, which is a National Trust property at Styal, Cheshire. The birds were decorated with beads and embroidery. size about 10cm The tail feathers were decorated with glass beads and embroidery.
Made in 2017 at Nikki Chandler’s Patchwork class, Great Wilbraham, Cambs.
This cushion design was adapted from a tapestry chart by Wendy Hope-Faulkner of One Off Needlework in the Jane Greenoff magazine “Stitch That”. I love the angels. The embroidery was stitched into a purchased cushion cover.
